Industrial and manufacturing companies are suffering most from a threat that is commonly overlooked-generic malware, which gets right inside the industrial network. This means the implementation of cybersecurity solutions, that are designed for industrial and manufacturing organizations and that are aware of specific OT assets, are imperative. To further improve cybersafety, it is recommended that these organizations invest in cybersecurity services that include regular cyber awareness training.
Industrial and manufacturing companies in the Japan and APAC region are more likely to be the victims of targeted attacks and suffer incidents related to OT infrastructure with external connections. Enforcing the use of specialized industrial network monitoring and anomaly detection tools should make all industrial communications transparent.
